Photographer Ken Elkins (picture above-middle) was one of those rare photographers who captured humanity and beauty in the rawest, sometimes most controversial of subjects and places. He received various honors for his photos documenting Southern life and spent years working for The Anniston Star in Anniston, Alabama. Upon his passing early this morning they created a slideshow documenting his talent and extensive career. He is he epitome of what a great photographer and a great soul can be.
