The Attendants is an interactive performance installation. The dominant set piece is an eight-foot, transparent plexiglass cube. Two performers move inside it, and a recording of a conversation about making theatre is heard. People can communicate with the performers by texting to them with their cell phones. The messages appear on two plasma screens that surround the cube.

CTMD’s An-sky Institute for Jewish Culture
presents an incredible evening of Yiddish music and dancing. Come celebrate the CD release of Benjy Fox-Rosen’s Tick Tock, a new recording of Yiddish song from the acclaimed bassist/singer of the Luminescient Orchestrii and the Michael Winograd Trio. The evening will begin with a set of Yiddish song by Adrienne Cooper. And we’ll top it all off with a Tantshoyz Yiddish Dance party! Rimbaud’s Illuminations
At last! John Ashbery’s translation of French poet Arthur Rimbaud’s final masterpiece before abandoning poetry at the age of 21, Illuminations (Norton, 2011) has been published. Ashbery’s rendering of all forty-four poems powerfully evokes the kaleidoscopic beauty of the original and creates “a vision of postdiluvian freshness” out of “the chaos of ice floes and the polar night.” This is a major literary event and we are going to celebrate it with poets and musicians Edwin Torres, Anne Tardos, Nicole Peyrafitte, Franklin Bruno, David Shapiro, Bree Brenton, Julie Patton, Madeline Gins, Richard Hell, Evi Jundt, Anna Williams andSharon Mesmer.
