About the Artist~

Mercado, is an artist currently working and living in Puerto Rico. He received a BFA in Fine Arts from the University of Illinois at Chicago. His work focuses on a contemporary platform of investigations that includes the Human Condition, Social Programming, Politics, Sex, Violence, Religion, and Survival. He uses painting, drawing, photography, mix media, installations, and performance.  Participated  exhibitions includes 1996 Group Exhibition Eastern Illinois University, USA; 1997 Group Exhibition Alternative Space Chicago, USA; 1998 Group Exhibition Gallery 400, Chicago, USA; 2008  International Exhibition, EdgeZones Art of Uncertainty, Centro Cultural de Espana, Santo Domingo;  Modern Art Museum (MAM), Art of Uncertainty, Santo Domingo
