Projects involving Davy Rothbart tend to be raw, emotionally charged looks at deteriorating, intense, and uplifting situations. His newest collaboration with Andrew Cohn is no exception. Medora chronicles the personal and athletic lives of the Medora Hornets, a high school team who’s losing streak is hardly their most pressing issue. Set in the former industrial town of Medora, Indiana, the residents now number only 500 and battle the realities of addictions, crime, and poverty on a daily basis. Years ago this film may have been a microscopic look at an isolated economic deterioration but today it stands as a brave statement to the often overlooked consequences of ignoring poverty in middle America and beyond. Please help them make this project a reality.
